Cockscomb Basin is also known for its spectacular waterfalls, mountain views, sightseeing tours, nature trails, and rich wildlife diversity with over 300 species of birds.
The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, and jaguarundis as well as tapirs, deer, and monkeys. The park offers a wide variety of hikes of varying lengths and difficulty, including the Ben’s Bluff, which has a spectacular view of the entire Basin, and to a waterfalls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim, or hike to the double waterfalls on Tiger Fern trail.
